There is one passage that seems to teach against such things, Leviticus chapter 19, verse 28, which says: You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD.

Many say that this applies to today s tattoos. Other contend that this was part of Old Testament, Levitical law and Christians today are not held to those standards. I would have to say that I seriously hope the latter is true because if you read on in that chapter you would see that we would all be doomed if that verse applies toady. Leviticus 19:19 forbids the mixing of fibers in their clothing no more cotton/poly!

My best answer to this question is that if you have a tattoo, don t get another one. There is no reason. We are called to be set apart from the world and to live Godly lives. I don t think that Jesus would be frequenting tattoo parlors if He were alive on earth today.

Content Courtesy of RaptureReady.com
